Surface of concrete footings stand ~25cm above ground level so water doesn’t pool around post feet
Posts are fastened to the top of the concrete footings with metal brackets — secure and prevents rot
Intelligent moisture management
None of our timber touches the ground — standing clear of surface water, moisture and dirt
We paint or tape the top of joists with sealants to protect the wood and ensure boards stay secure
Boards and panels are spaced to allow water to drain and air to circulate, to keep the deck dry
Structural design best practice
Appropriate number of joists to ensure the boards are well supported, firm and last longer
Appropriate number of support posts and beams to support the structure and intended use
High-quality fasteners and screws ensure the frame and boards stay secure over time.
Quality material choices
All posts, beams and joists are C24 structural grade and UC4 pressure-treated for longevity
Choice of hardwood deck boards, as well as hardwood posts
Choice of composite frame and deck boards for ultimate longevity, or hybrid wood and composite
